The collection consists of six petitions containing more than 300 signatures from citizens of Jackson County, Georgia, and
living in and near Statham, asking "for the new county of Barrow with Winder as the county site" to be created. The collection
also includes a leather pouch, which originally contained the petitions, with an envelope addressed to "J. T. Strange, Room
202, Kimball House, Atlanta, Georgia.

sheets and letters, all protesting the re-zoning of "one of the South's best architectural assets."
